Colorado Rockies.Just as quickly Andrew Miller Jersey , consecutive wins have the Rockies feeling pretty good about themselves.“We feel as though we’re a contending team,” manager Bud Black said after the Rockies beat the last-place Padres 7-3 Sunday to salvage a split of a four-game series. “We feel as though we can play with anybody in the National League. We’ll see how these next few weeks go. This is good stuff. This is where we want to be. We know we’re in a dogfight with the Diamondbacks and Dodgers. We’ve just got to keep doing it.”About an hour after the Rockies won, Los Angeles beat Arizona 3-2. The Dodgers have a one-half game lead over Colorado, with the Diamondbacks another half game back in third.Chris Iannetta hit a go-ahead, two-run double in the seventh inning for the Rockies, who came into the series one-half game behind Arizona before losing the first two games. They snapped San Diego’s four-game winning streak on Saturday night and then beat rookie Jacob Nix (2-3) on Sunday.Colorado, which lost to Arizona in the NL wild-card game last year, won for the third time in seven games. With the score tied at 3, Nix faltered opening the seventh by allowing a leadoff single to Ian Desmond and walking Gerardo Parra before being lifted for fellow rookie Trey Wingenter. Desmond and Parra pulled off a double steal and Iannetta brought them both in with a double to the base of the fence in center. The double steal “takes the double play out of order, gives them a base open and they’ve got to pitch to you,” Iannetta said. “He made a mistake over the plate and I was able to get the barrel to it. I was just trying to hit a ball to the outfield and score one, and was able to hit a line drive and score two.”Charlie Blackmon singled with one out to bring in Iannetta. That made a winner of Kyle Freeland (13-7), who allowed three runs and seven hits in six innings. He struck out three and walked two.The Rockies return home for a 10-game homestand that starts with three games against San Francisco and finishes with three against the Dodgers and four against Arizona.“Splitting the series certainly wasn’t what we were hoping for but we’ll take it,” Freeland said. The seventh inning “was huge,” the lefty added. “They were obviously seeing me pretty well and barreling-up balls. To get through six and then have the offense explode there in the seventh inning and throw some runs on them and kind of step on their throats, that was really great to see.”David Dahl homered in the eighth, his eighth. The double steal was big for the Rockies.“The Rockies have never historically really run on us,” San Diego manager Andy Green said. “They ran all over us this series. It’s a bunch of young guys on the mound that have come up not realizing how important that is. We’ve got to drill that into them that those are free bases Tyler Naquin Jersey , and they turn into runs, and they turn into losses.”Nix allowed five runs and five hits in six-plus innings, struck out four and walked two.“I take pride in not walking guys. Nothing frustrates me more than walking a guy and having him score,” Nix said. “Especially like if I ever walk a guy and he steals second then I give up a double, it’s like, that guy shouldn’t have been on base.“The ball that Story hit, I put that ball right where I wanted. About six inches off the plate, wanted him to chase. He did, got it down the line. Good hitters get hits sometimes.”Freeland got into early trouble when he walked leadoff batter Freddy Galvis and allowed a single to left by rookie Luis Urias. He walked Eric Hosmer with one out and then allowed rookie Franmil Reyes’ two-run single to center for a 2-1 lead.Colorado got a sacrifice fly from Nolan Arenado in the first and a sac fly from Dahl in the fourth, and then tied the game in the sixth when DJ LeMahieu walked with one out and scored on Trevor Story’s double to right.UP NEXTRockies: LHP Tyler Anderson (6-7, 4.79) is scheduled to start Monday in the opener of a three-game series against San Francisco. The Giants will counter with LHP Madison Bumgarner (5-5, 2.68).Padres: RHP Bryan Mitchell (0-3, 7.08) is scheduled to start Monday night in the opener of a two-game series at Arizona, marking his return to the rotation for the first time since early May. He was moved to the bullpen after struggling in his first seven starts and then missed 2 ½ months with an elbow impingement. Arizona is set to counter with RHP Zack Godley (14-7, 4.42). ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Ryon Healy let out a sigh of relief, and the Seattle Mariners regained the lead in extra innings when his hard grounder got through the left side of the Rangers infield. Healy singled past diving Gold Glove third baseman Adrian Beltre and beyond the reach of also-diving shortstop Elvis Andrus to drive in the go-ahead run with two outs in the 12th inning, and the Mariners won 4-3 at Texas after blowing an early three-run lead Monday night.“Never feel comfortable when I hit a ball that way http://www.indiansfanproshop.com/authentic-cody-allen-jersey , and Elvis Andrus is no slouch either. That man (Beltre) is an unbelievable defender,” Healy said. “It took me a while to finally see the ball get to the outfield.”Mitch Haniger scored from second base. He had doubled into the left field corner off Eddie Butler (2-2) a pitch after Jean Segura was thrown out trying to steal second base.“Every game’s a big one and that’s how we’re approaching each night,” Haniger said. “Just keep it simple and try to win each day.” Mike Zunino had three hits and homered for the playoff-contending Mariners, who have won back-to-back games since a season-worst five-game losing streak.Sam Tuivailala (4-3), the seventh Seattle pitcher, had a perfect 11th for his first decision in four appearances since getting acquired July 27 in a trade from St. Louis. Edwin Diaz pitched the 12th for his majors-best 42nd save in 45 chances despite allowing a pair of singles. The Rangers trailed 3-0 before six consecutive batters reached base in the seventh against starter Wade LeBlanc and three relievers. LeBlanc threw 82 pitches and allowed only a walk and two singles.“Got to the point in the game, felt really good about going to the bullpen there, 95, 96 degrees out here, Wade threw outstanding,” manager Scott Servais said. “Guys in the bullpen, in the seventh inning, just struggled.”LeBlanc was done after Andrus’ one-out single that extended his hitting streak to 17 games, his career best and the longest active streak in the majors. Adam Warren then walked a batter, allowed an RBI double to Jurickson Profar and hit Robinson Chirinos on his hand on a full-count pitch. Scott Servais argued the pitch hit the knob of the bat, but the call stood and the bases were loaded after a 2-minute replay review . Zach Duke walked Joey Gallo , the only batter he faced, to force in a run before Alex Colome allowed an RBI single to Isiah Kiner-Falefa for a 3-3 tie. Colome did get five outs before three different pitchers had 1-2-3 innings to get to the 12th.Tuivailala’s final out in the 11th was a deep flyball by Profar that kept carrying and was caught by Cameron Maybin against the center field wall .“I think LeBlanc kept us off-balance just with the volume of offspeed Roberto Perez Jersey ,” Texas manager Jeff Banister said. “Maybe we were a little anxious, didn’t let the ball travel early.”EXTRA, EXTRAThe Mariners improved to 9-1 in extra-innings games this season.COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH MOREAfter Healy led off the sixth with a double and scored on Maybin’s single, Seattle loaded the bases with no outs before speedy leadoff hitter Dee Gordon’s grounder turned into a nifty double play by Rouged Odor. The second baseman made a backhanded pick of the short hopper, stepped on the bag and threw with his body falling away from the base. First baseman Profar snagged the one-hop relay while sliding into a split as a run scored to make it 3-0.PEREZ OVERCOMESRangers starter Martin Perez gave up 10 hits over seven innings. He is still without a win in five starts since coming off the disabled list.“Seemed to have traffic the entire time. I thought he did a great job being able to navigate for the most part,” Banister said.TRAINER’S ROOMMariners: Gordon was back in in the lineup after missing two games because of a sore right ankle. He twisted the ankle trying to turn a double play Thursday. He played Friday, but not Saturday or Sunday.Rangers: RF Nomar Mazara, out since the All-Star break with a sprained right thumb, is taking batting practice and Banister said he could possibly start a rehab assignment later this week. Mazara said the thumb is getting stronger every day.UP NEXTA matchup of struggling former AL Cy Young Award winners when 45-year-old Rangers hurler Bartolo Colon (5-10, 5.18 ERA) goes against Seattle and Felix Hernandez (8-9, 5.49). The last victory for both right-handers was June 30. Colon, the 2005 Cy Young winner while with the Angels, has lost five consecutive starts since his 246th career win that matched Dennis Martinez for the most by a player born in Latin America. The 32-year-old Hernandez, who won the Cy Young with the Mariners in 2010, is 0-3 with a 7.64 ERA his last four starts.
